Tangi M. Gantt, Chief Executive Officer/ Executive Director

Tangi M. Gantt was born in Harbor City, California. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and Social Work from Florida A & M University. She earned a Masters Degree in Counseling and Psychological Services from Clark Atlanta University. Mrs. Gantt, a Guidance Counselor for Clayton County Public School System, currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Co Founder of the All Grown Up Program. Some of her professional affiliations include: American Counseling Association, Atlanta Business Women’s Association, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. Her hobbies include, mentoring teen females, traveling, reading, and aerobic activity. Mrs. Gantt believes “Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life… as by the obstacles which he or she has overcome while trying to succeed.” Booker T Washington

Jan A. Johnson, Chief Operations Officer

Jan A. Johnson is originally from Chicago, IL. She attended Hampton University, Hampton, VA, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Jan attended Georgia State University and received a Certificate in Conflict Resolution and Negotiation. She was also a Contractor Negotiator for the National Football Player’s Association for several years. Jan is currently employed as  Support Manager with a Fortune 500 company. Her affiliations include being a member of the Hampton University Alumni Association, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.  and the Junior League of Dekalb County. Her hobbies include singing and stamp collecting. Jan is always encouraged by the quote “If you want to lift yourself up, lift someone else.”- Booker T. Washington.

Zakiyya W. Whittle, Director of Special Events and Programming

Zakiyya Whittle is an Atlanta, Georgia native. She earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Degree in Elementary Education from Florida A & M University and a Master Degree (M. Ed.) in Administration and Supervision from the State University of West Georgia. Ms. Whittle is currently a teacher in the Clayton County Public School System. She also currently serves as Director of Programs of the All Grown Up Program. She began working with AGU in 1999. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated (East Point / College Park Chapter) and serves in the Youth Ministry at New Birth South Metropolitan Church. Her hobbies include reading, traveling, exercising, and working with children. Ms. Whittle believes “If you can bring one moment of happiness into the life of a child, you are a coworker with God.” – Unknown

Rita Akiyode, Assistant Director of Global Operations

Rita Akiyode was born in Miami, Florida and was raised in the South Metro Atlanta area of Georgia. She attended Albany State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Grades Education with concentrations in Language Arts and Social Studies. She also received her Master’s degree in School Counseling from Albany State University. She worked as a teacher for two years and is now working in the community providing skills training to adolescents. Her professional affiliations have included the American Counseling Association, American School Counselor Association, Georgia School Counselors Association, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Her hobbies include working with youth, reading, and traveling.
